Let's stop spreading misformation of masks and unite to fight Corona virus
By the end of the year 2019, the world health organization reported first case of Corona virus in Wuhan city at China. Then The virus has been spread to more than 120 countries including South Africa and the virus is among the most deadliest infections diseases to have emerged in recent history because has killed more than millions of people in the world. On the 27 match 2020 South Africa went to 21 days national lockdown to limit the spreads of Corona virus and the lockdown has affected many south african people. In this blog I will briefly discuss about Corona virus misformation and try to bring solutions
Social media has a lot of negative impact on people's lives and it has considered as noteworthy passage of message for information and most people show their responses based on the information contained on the internet. Chinese government released the statement that they are going to offer help by providing free mask to every country in the world, immediately after that statement there was a trends on Twitter #chinesemask spread the virus #chinese government created the virus. So many people in South Africa were influenced by those trends, a lot of people in South Africa does not wear mask because they believe mask help the spreads of covid 19 and the strict enforcement of the protocol was to leave out the spread of the virus in view of decreasing cases being recorded in South Africa, people were still hand shaking and ignoring the rules and regulations of covid 19. The research show that 40% of South African find wearing a face mask makes them anxious and 60% said it makes communication very difficult and it causes short breath due to the influence of wearing mask spread the virus, south africa recorded many new cases and death from covid 19 than any country in Africa. During national lockdown many south african could not follow the rules and regulations of covid 19 as they believe that they are at low risk of contracting the disease cause some of them believe that the Corona virus is fake and that people are being told lies just so the government can continue with curruption.
Source states that Corona virus was linked with 5GB network and the network can cause weakness systems humans and the virus can be transmitted through the network. Many south african Did not know which information is correct. At this times in South Africa attending events and gathering increases the risk of getting and spreading Corona virus and some south african adults don't wear masks when attending over crowded events, this behavior is costing a lot of people in South Africa because people are dying in numbers daily, currently the total number of deaths is 54 406 in South Africa. Young South African and adults are dying today because of the wrong information from internet. All people who spreads wrong information on the internet actions must be taken against them.
People must learn that wearing mask is the most powerful weapon that we can use to stop the spread of Corona virus. South Africans should promote #hashtag prevention is better than cure in different media platforms. People must not believe everything that is from internet since not information is s correct and I think south african need to be educated about the virus and how wearing mask can assist to prevent them from contracting the disease. People must keep on washing their hands frequently with soap and water. The governments did very well for implementing the law of falling to wear a mask in public is a direct criminal offence In South Africa, maybe this law can decrease the number of people who don't wear masks, therfore we will manage to fight the disease
